FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

  1. I want to own my own business, but I’m not sure what’s the best way. Can I own my own UpDog?

Yes! We offer franchise opportunities and we have a team that will support you every step of the way to ensure your success. Please visit our franchise (click here) page to request more information.

  2. Where do you get your produce?

We use a combination of sources. We personally hand-select the organic produce from our local Whole Foods Market (you can read about their standards at www.wholefoodsmarket.com) or farmers market and we partner with local distributor(s) who source our nut butters/frozen items.

  3. Why is it important to get your produce at a Whole Foods Market and not everything through a distributor?

It is important for us to support organizations who share our same mission and values, regarding serving our community and planet. Additionally, we want to ensure that our customers receive the freshest and most nutrient-filled ingredients when they experience our menu items. In order to do that, we carefully inspect our produce and pick the best ones out of the bunch. We want to reduce waste done to our planet, by only buying what is necessary.

  4. Do you use locally-grown produce?

When it is available, we use locally-grown produce. We use mostly all organic and non-GMO fruits and vegetables.

  5. What machine do you use for your juices?

For juices ordered onsite, we use the best-rated, cold-press masticating juicer in the market: the Tribest Greenstar PRO. For bulk juicing, we use Good Nature’s X-1 Mini.

  6. What is the advantage of your method using a masticating juicer, instead of a centrifugal juicer (quick juice extractor)?

By using a slow masticating juicer (specifically 110 RPM), we keep the oxidation levels at a minimum from all our vegetables, fruits, and greens to create the best tasting juices. This process preserves all the living enzymes and vitamins, keeping it fresh for a longer period of time so our customers can enjoy all the healthy benefits of juicing. We want to make sure that our customers get most value for their money.

  7. Do you use any added sugars or artificial ingredients in your menu items?

No. We truly believe in using the natural flavors and nutrients provided by the fruits and vegetables in our recipes.

  8. Why do you suggest a 5-10 min. wait time when an order is placed?

We make all of our menu items fresh-to-order, to provide our customers the freshest juices and smoothies for their body’s consumption. The exception is when we bottle up our signature juices or our almond/cashew mylks for our customers “on-the-go”.

  9. Can your customers call ahead and pre-order?

Absolutely. Please feel free to call ahead of time to place your order prior to pick up.

  10. Where does the name “UpDog” come from?

UpDog is actually a yoga pose. Please check out our about page to find out more.

  11. Are all your menu items gluten-free and vegan-friendly?

Yes. The only item that is not gluten-free and vegan is our granola used in our açai bowls. We do offer gluten-free granola for an additional charge. Please let one of our Smoothie Baristas know your preference and we will be happy to accommodate.

  12. Are you open to new product offering suggestions?
